Cool

The table frame work is for at home duty only. When the layout goes to show it will set on a table the show people provide.

Hey Rich, how about cutting a couple girder bridges in Z scale? Or at least the side panels I need one to go over the river and one for the highway over pass.

Still even for home use it will rack easy I'd add some gussets at the top anyway just to help hold the legs in place. 1 x 2 are not all that strong at that height. OR another way is to add a second 1 x to each leg to make a L . that will help more then you know. As for the Z scale bridge it might happen
how long

In real inches ? 3 1/2" is 65' in Z scale. That would work.I had thought about cutting down a couple of the ATLAS N through girders but decided that was way to much butchering to do.

Well I've had a bit of a setback. It seems that the 19" diameter circle of MTL track I bought is actually a half circle of 19" raduis track.

These Z scale locos and cars would look great on a curve that size but there ain't no way it would fit on my table size,so it's back to the LHS this morning to get a different track package.

Oh well I need to get some other things anyway.

If your getting new track get some flex and do what you want with it plus less splices and in Z that is a big plus. Remember your only working with 9 volts. Will look into the bridge and get back at you in the next week.

Cool short quick update

Got the track I needed and now have started to fuss with the trackplan.Since this is a layout meant for exhibition the plan will remain quite simple. What you see in the picture is just the very beginnings of the trackwork. There will be at least one more turnout with a usable siding.

The white background you see is my wife's Christmas village table being used to hide the mess behind it

I have a long ways to go and about 7 weeks to get there .
