I agree, there are some great tips.Great idea to make a list of what you want for your layout, the absolutes and the not so aboslutes.I am planning on doing that for my future layout,so I know what I am going to have to work with space wise and whether I stay with HO Scale or go to N Scale.I can always change the size of the layout if I stay with HO Scale.

Those are some great tips to planning the layout, whether you are in N Scale,HO Scale or some other scale,it takes the guess work out of what you can fit and won't fit on your layout.

Tall dude thanks for the welcome and the compliment

Steve what you can do of course is go to HOn30 that way you have the space requirements of N scale yet the size of HO and can pack in a lot of stuff in narrow gauge. I hope that helps

However having said that, if you are newish to the hobby in the building part then stick with HO as it has so much more stuff that you can buy and won't frustrate the beginner as much when looking into getting houses or trains or track etc etc.
