Easy Cattails

Used this method some years ago on my first layout to make cattails for my pond. I don't have any pictures however just some helpful information on the process. When I get to the scenery section of my new layout I will snap pictures and update this.

First of all the materials needed:
Green paint (I used spray paint)
Thin gage wire (Your choice for your desired thickness)
Brown Nail polish
Scrap peace of Styrofoam

Instructions
First take the wire cut it to the desired height 1/2 inch to 1 inch and stick them into the Styrofoam just enough to stand them up. Now paint thing green with spray paint let that dry. Next take the brown nail polish and dab it at the top end of the wire. Since the nail polish is think it makes the detail of the large seed area on cat tails.

Now for mounting them into ponds/water just use a heat gun to get the water hot and then just poke them in groups to the desired look you are going for.
