Imitation black marble

A touch of imitation black marble can dress up the front of a commercial building. Even though real marble is often shiny, glossy surfaces rarely look realistic on models. Begin by painting the panels flat black. Then use the end of a frayed toothpick, or a few strands of an old paint brush, to apply random streaks of antique white paint very sparingly, as in dry brushing. It’s hard to go wrong, but don’t get carried away with the streaks. Only a few are necessary. This structure is an O scale Buildings Unlimited kit.
