Ties

I have been making a few tie piles to go along the track for detail. I started using bought 3/32 bass wood cut to the right length, 3/32 is the right size for HO ties. then I went out and had to lite the grill, I use kitchen stick matches. After getting the grill going I noticed the match was very close to the size of wood strip I was cutting, so I measureed it and it was right on. So I raided the coffee can I through the burnt matches in and got enough tie material to last years. so I guess this is like a recycling tip, use the old match sticks and keep the expencive wood for other projects!!
