Question Bar Mills Models vs. Bragdon Enterprises (Weathering Powder)

Since I am looking for a new job which might require moving, I figured I'd start looking at weathering some cars and diesels..

Anyone have a opinion on Bar Mills Weathering Powders or Bragdon Enterprises Weathering Powders? Is one better than the other?

Just placed an order for the 12 color Weathering system from Bragdon Enterprises, so we'll see how it works.

Bragging about Bragdon

I use Bragdon all the time, and love it. One thing I was told was to try it wet, I did, didn't like the results at all.

Easy to use. Easy to overuse. Go lightly until you get the hang of it.

One of the TH&B box cars is yet to be weathered, or as my dearly beloved likes to say "aged". Makes my box cars sound like a good hunk of cheese.

As for the other one, no idea.

Date

I suppose when I'm looking through the forums I should check the date, the Bragdon thread is old. Oh well, maybe it it will start up again.

I'm using Bragdons powder for weathering as well, and am pleased by the results. The special glue mixed in the powder doesn't really make it different from home-made powder IMO. It sticks just as good/bad as any other, but your milage may vary...

I've used Bragdons powder on these cars with OK results:

I must have missed this thread first time around, so I'm glad it's been revived! Neat effects! Subtle, but pronounced difference between "out-of-the-box" and weathered (aged! I love it!)
