Hi Guys, today I just got back from Savannah, and while staying there, I went to see the Central Of Georgia RR Museum there. It was really cool.
The round house is goin under Heavy restoration at the moment, and some of the surviving engines there are getting an overhaul, and some just in need of some repair. There are some cars and Pullmans sitting in the roundhouse and two are getting a complete rebuild while five are sitting and waiting for the later oscursions.
Welcome to the CG Round House RR Museum!!
We went in the gift shop to pay for our visit. We then were pointed to go through a door into the round house. Soon as I walk out, I come face to face, with 1887 coach car, and I was told it was the oldest surviving pullman in the CG passenger fleet.
As I came around the first car, I confronted a Heavy Weight Combination built in the early 30's, going under some huge restoration. The outside walls have been striped off from severe weather damage, and abuse. You could see the inside and some of the remainign apolstry, or whats left.
Notice in this picture below there's an orb of energy floating around. The round house was abondoned for years and is supposedly haunted too. This is one of many spirritual activities you will see in savannah. Ghost's are typical to be seen here.

Next we have an old wooden caboose. Dates back to late 1800's. It is a Central Of Georgia, and I couldn't tell you what other information about it than what I saw. We were not allowed past the rope, because of the restoration work going on. But it is in newly refirbished condition, and is ready to hit the rails.
