Figured I might as well start getting back out there and taking some pics. You'll have to pardon the first few I post, the camera is new and I'm still getting used to it. For instance, in this pic, my timing was way off...I had hoped to get a lot more in the shot. To kick things off:

Nice shot! I love the angle, it's almost perfect. You probably didn't get as much in as you thought you would because you might have zoomed in more than you meant to or something. I'm pretty good with cameras, but my stepmom is like a photography genius.

I had a HUGE day of railfanning today, with about 45 pictures! I went to Parsons Yard (CSX) and Watkins Road (NS) in Columbus, OH. Here are some of the highlights:
Now I'm jealous, you actually got INSIDE the roundhouse! Now you're gonna have to show us the rest of the pics!!
BTW- Thanks for sharing!

Well, I didn't go inside, but stood right outside the door. It's a very busy facility, and the last thing I wanted to do was get hauled away in handcuffs.
I had to get pics of the roundhouse, it was the whole reason for my trip in the first place. I was willing to brave it for those pics, but after I got those, I went straight into the office and spoke to both the yardmaster and trainmaster. Of course, I got the 9/11 speech and was told they wouldn't grant me a visitor's pass. No one on the property except CSX employees, no exceptions.
So after that I had to get creative. Most of the mile-long property is lined by trees on all sides. The rest of my pics were either taken from the road or from hiking through some woods until I came to a clearing.
