cafe building flat

I needed a building flat for a cafe behind the station in Tomah. I couldn't find what I was looking for in kit form so I had to improvise. I found a DPM kit called CAROLS CORNER CAFE, it had the right look to it so all I had to do is make it flat. heres what the kit looks like



And here it is flattend out!



Just goes to show that if you can't find what you want, you can usualy build it.

Looks good Andy!! I'd be tempted to put a vertical sign above the door between the windows... every business needs a sign.

Good job, Andy. Maaan, I love them old buildings like this one! Just classic design, and those apartments on the second story are utterly cool, also. Making a store front flat is fairly easy and creates a nice illusion of depth to the scene.

I knew a guy years back that lived in an apartment over the store below, and it was HUGE! "Beautiful" doesn't begin to desribe how that apartment was designed! A big formal dining room, a separate sitting room complete with French doors. The front living room was about the size of the dining area and over-looked the main street out front. The kitchen area was peculiar though--long and fairly narrow, but it had lots of shelving space for dishes and food storage as well as the entrance way to the back porch and stairs down to the alley. Hardwood floors, wainscot paneling, and trim work throughout the entire apartment!

I was soooo envious of him and his place! Unfortunately, we drifted apart and lost touch. He moved and the store owner wanted to re-design the apartment space and broke it up into THREE different apartments after my friend moved out. It wasn't even close to being the same. *Sigh*
