Starting with June 2007 production, Athearn Blue Box kits will have metal wheels, AND new road numbers—view a PDF listing these kits. The kits should start arriving in stores in early July. You can recognize them by the 60th Anniversary logo printed on the front of the box.

Speaking of our 60th Anniversary, 2007 marks 60 years of Athearn products. We are going to celebrate the second half of the year with several very exciting items.
We'll have some rolling stock decorated with special paint (to be announced in July), and we're also planning to have a prototype car decorated in a special livery (details on this will come as soon as everything is completely finalized).
And for a real celebration, we will have a birthday party on September 15 and 16—reserve that weekend and come to beautiful and sunny Carson, California for our special celebration. We'll have food, soft drinks, birthday cake and a huge special warehouse sale. Some folks remember our Moving Sale when we moved from Compton to Carson. This will be comparable, so BE HERE! Details will follow as we get closer, but start planning now to join us for this huge celebration.

Our HO Genesis weathered box cars have really been a hit! If you haven't gotten some, at least check them out at your favorite store. Our painters really did a good job! Check out photos of the weathered box cars. Some of these cars are already sold out so be sure to check 'em out today.
