Cool Third Week of June, 2008 YOUR Pics!!

Hey! We had some pretty decent posts last week, thanks to everyone who joined the party! I guess I'll start the week out with a car TWP hasn't seen before, bringing up the Markers.

A couple of weeks ago, we headed up to Williams, AZ (again) to go campin' and celebrate my 6 year olds birthday. Of course, while we were there, I got some good railfannin' time in too!
First off, an old F40PH refurbished and put back into use running passenger excursions between Williams and the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Right behind that is the power car. I don't know if these are common or unique but I'd never seen one before.

Back in Williams, they replaced the older display locomotive with a fresh exhibit! I can't ever remember how to tell the difference between the three different types of these but I'm gonna go out on a limb and call this one a shay.

And of course, it's hard to tell just how big these suckers look unless you put a six year old in the picture.

Our timing was good as the afternoon steam run returned from the canyon right then.

Here's my not so great shot of a little BNSF mainline action growling up the grade.

Lastly, I know I've wanted to gas somebody for the rising gas prices, but this place gives you permission to gas the cashier! I guess somebody has to be held responsible!

A question, Daryl-

Daryl, When you mentioned you were making it a manual TT, are you just going to reach in and turn it, or are you using some sort of underdeck pulley system??

Mike ,I plan to just reach in and turn because I used a 1/4" jack as the pivot and power supply for it. this way I don't need alignment notches
