Cool I want your imput on this project.

Hi gang,I've been working on this lil ole building for a few days and have some rather drastic changes in mind for it.

The building is just to darn big to really fit nicely on any of my layouts,so I am planning on removing the top two floors. What's your take on that idea?

Incase your interested the building is built from two DPM "Hilltowne Hotel" kits that I got for $3.00 a piece a couple years ago.

Man that is one big building. I think if all possible i would take out the third and fourth floors. move the top floor down on the second floor and make a three story building out of it.

I would be tempted to sacrifice the 3rd floor and make 2 two-story buildings out of it. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room between the floors and I figure it you sacrifice the 3rd floor you would have room to clean up the cuts. Of course, you would have to add a roof to the other part.

Well Catt,
If you aren't interested in making two buildings out of it like TD suggested, You could just cut the building off at third floor, cut the facia off the top and drop it down on the third floor!! Kind of depends on what you would like to with it.

I think iwould take out the 2nd and 3rd floor and add the roof back on it's going to be hard to hide the cut out . OR you could finish it and put it on ebay ? just kidding.

Dark lines in 1st photos indicate cut lines.

2nd photos give a rough idea of what it would look like after it's cut and re-assembled.

Just an idea.

I like that. I think it will turn out really good as long as you can hide the new seams.

Hey Catt,
Whatever you do decide, maybe you can do a play by play and post it in the Craftsmans Bench section for the folks who never cut up a building and put it back together again. I think it would be a great learning experience!!
