Atlas O Announces Charter Membership Golden Spike Club Car


Atlas O Vice President Jim Weaver has announced the selection of the company’s inaugural club car – the Clicquot Club, 40' billboard wood reefer, built in 1920. The only guaranteed way to obtain this unique reefer with a full color graphic of ‘Klee-ko’ the Eskimo is to become a charter member of the new Atlas O Golden Spike Club before March 31st, 2007.

“We selected a 40' reefer as the sign-up gift to our charter members due to the stunning success of this line of cars, for this specific car’s colorful details, and the fact that it is a perfect accompaniment to Atlas O’s previously released 36' Clicquot cars, which have become highly-collectible,” Jim said. “It features a unique and colorful paint scheme that will appeal to many operators and collectors. The Atlas O 40’ Wood Reefer is a favorite of modelers and is a fitting introduction to this latest offering of O scale fun from Atlas O. Exquisite decoration is a hallmark of all Atlas products. As 2006 drew to a close, Atlas elves were busily putting finishing touches on charter membership cards bearing the Golden Spike Club logo, which will begin arriving in members’ mailboxes in January 2007. Those who join the club by March 31st will receive their charter member club car in spring, 2007. A new “member’s only” car will be produced annually for those who renew their membership.

“Hundreds have already signed up in the first few months after the announcement and the response has been phenomenal,” said Atlas O CEO Tom Haedrich, who announced the Golden Spike Club at the Fall TCA Show in York, PA. “The name for the club was inspired by the history-making event of the ‘golden spike’ being driven into the ground, joining together the East and West into the country’s first Transcontinental Railroad.” This iconic American scene has been recreated in movies, television, art and history books.
