Check out this hobby shop layout!!
GBTom (a member here on The Whistle Post) sent me these pics of the O scale layout that is being built at the local hobby shop near him. I'll get the name/address of the place and post it as well. It is in California.

This is a case of "going into business to support your hobby obsession!"
Cool layout, fersure! But really, from an operational stand-point--those trains are just going in circles. There's no theme other than "run big trains." It's a significant display railroad. Impressive. Lots of "Gee whiz!" factor.
Hope those folks sell a coupla truck-loads of toy trains!

Not only is it a HUGE layout...but they're taking the time to scenic it beautifully! It is really coming along. I wonder what effect this is having and will have on business. I have 2 LHS and 1 has a just a small oval of track with a train on it that I've never seen move and the other has a more ambitious track plan but is U G L Y !!! Neither one could ever help sell anything. I hope this really boosts sales! Good luck guys!
