Any other Nn3'ers out there?

I've always wanted to try my hand at narrow gauge and have been out of the hobby for quite a few years (deployments to Iraq aren't exactly conducive to successful model building ). But now I'm a student in an apartment with time but no room, so I thought I'd give Nn3 a try, it's been a steep learning curve (all my previous experience was with HO), by this is what I have so far. I almost have the mainline done but it's also slow going as I'm hand-laying it, something ELSE I've never tried before. So after tearing up my first 3 feet and readjust the grade about 5 times I think it's downhill from here as far as the mainline goes.

S that's my little story so far, glad to be a part of the hobby again, been a ton of fun (and frustration ) already Hope I can learn some things from you masters on here looks like a great site!

Thumbs up Welcome to another Narrow Gauger

To TWP, and glad to see you posting with pics!! Very cool! We do have a few here who are pretty good with the stuff, so don't be shy, and stop by often and say Hi!! We like folks who just like trains, and it doesn't matter what scale they are!

Thanks guys, looking forward to workin' with ya'll!

Daryl, I am using fastracks jigs for turnouts, they are definitely the right answer. After doing a couple without their stuff, it's a breeze to build a turnout with their jigs. Tim Warris makes some very well thought out stuff!

Testing out the new wood truss bridge, minus the trusses! (they'll come later)

Newly laid track on the south-west side of my extremely condensed and rearranged version of the Chama Yard . Still mulling over how I want to lay out the round house and track on the north-east side. Track is ME code 40.

I need more track! The yard filled up with my current motive power roster, K-37 #491 and K-36 # 489. "Visiting" Colorado & Southern #9 rounds out the tally. There is no excuse for her being in Chama other than the fact it was such a neat looking kit and I couldn't resist building her!
