Yeh, there are a lot of similarities aren't there? There were quite a few scenes on the old one that I really liked and wanted to incorporate into this one as well. Some scenes will be resemble very closer what they were before (the farm) and others will be the same idea but improved (the multiple bridges across the canyon). It seems like this layout is progressing faster than any of my others have even though I'm still learning new things. Fun stuff.

In the fourth and fifth picture UP, I want to put in a quarry of some kind and need to do some research as to how it will look. I've got the track plan figured out but not sure of "the look" I'm going for.

In the picture directly above, I've got room for a rather large industry in the bottom right corner of the yard but have still drawn a blank as to what will go there. I don't want anything as dominating as the new steel mill structures but something larger than usual. Perhaps a refinery or something.

I kind of like the middle picture of the cement plant, lots of different structures to build with that one!!

Very good progress TN your doing a great job.Those Oil Refineries look good especially if you run a lot of pipes to the point where rivet counters can't follow them & use a lot of the different color valves & pumps.I saw on a guy's layout before instead of a oil plant he modeled a paint producing plant & the colors & detail was fantastic.Most people if your like me you have no idea of the correct way to run the piping so you make it so busy everyone thinks you know what your doing.

Been working on some projects lately...
needed a bridge right here...






Had to remember how I used to carve rock out of foam. Rock tunnel portal...



The more I look at this, the more I think I can do better. It will probably get cut out and I will make another attempt soon.

This bunch of foams next to be turned into rocks....


Finally, at last I found a suitable "entrance" for my sub station... a work in progress... actually, I just stuck the facade there and have not had a chance to do much else to it... YET.

Looks great TN, I like the bridge and the sub station entrance looks like the tunnel entrances on the Pa turn pike. hope to see more soon!

Inside the Tunnel

Hey TN not sure if you have tried this but I have & it looks great. Take some aluminum foil crinkle it slightly & spray some gray primer with some shades of black & a little brown & line the inside of your tunnel areas that are visible at the portals. It looks like a rock wall.

That's a cool idea and I will definitely have to try that on another section of tunnel. For that one with the rock entrance, I have already torn that all out and redone it with Hydrocal castings. On the interior part that you can see, I lined it with WS wooden retaining walls and it looks pretty cool. I've taken pictures, just not downloaded them yet. Soon to come... Thanks for checking in.

This is all looking wonderful! Its giving me lots if Ideas for when I start mine here in about a month. Also love all the detailed pics. Its nice to see different ways to do something and also to see how something is done! love it and cant wait to see more!
