The Amarillo to Tucumcari 1900's layout

I am starting my small layout that is supposed to be from Amarillo, Tx to Tucumcari, NM .This is a basic single maimline with a branch off to Clovis,NM. On this layout I will be running a 4-4-0 American with 1 flat car, 1 box car. 2 passenger cars and of course the bobber caboose. This is a prototypical lashup for the time period.

The first picture is laying down track to get a basic layout shape and to mark the outline for the roadbed.
The second picture is just shot from a different angle.

Happy camper

Well the other day I recieved my track that was ordered and went to the lumber yard in another town and got my wood for the framing. After I got all the material home I proceeded to build up the framework for my layout, the small one. As of this morning the framing is finished and the tops are cut and installed so now I can proceed to drilling the holes for the wiring to pass through then I will flip it over and start laying roadbed and track. Pictures to follow much later this evening. Hooray for caboose hobbies they are really inexpensive and fast.

I had to wait so long for my new track that I forgot I had posted this. Anyway the new thread called Happy camper needs to be moved to this thread. If one of the moderators or the boss would be so kind as to move it I would be appreciative.

Layout changes and progress

Well after having to move my layout out of the house to my workshop I decided to intergrate the small layout into the overall layout and make it a little larger. Here is the pics of where I am now , The main oval trackbed and track are installed and I am starting to work in the center and then add more of the larger layout framing,
