Progress of the D.R. Deep creek

Well, as I mentioned in another thread, my son and I have 5 layouts and we wanted to share some pictures of them. We kind of figured we would start with the most current one and work our way back. Okay, so, N scale, L shaped, 9'x7'x2'4". I want to go with DCC eventually but gotta wait until the budget rebounds after Christmas. It's set up to run two trains at once with some minor switching as well. The first shot is a fairly accurate representation of the plan 'though several things have changed since it's conception. Hmmmm, can't seem to figure out how to bring in the pictures from the gallery.... help? I see the "insert image" button above and it asks me for the URL. How do I find out what the URL is for an image in the gallery?

Go to your gallery and click on whichever picture you want to insert. Put your cursor over the large picture and right click and choose Properties. Then you can hightlist the URL and copy it.

So for the trackplan, it would be http://www.thewhistlepost.com/forums...Final_plan.jpg

Click on the Insert image icon and put that url in there and you end up with this

Allright, let's give that a whirl then...
If this works, you should see a picture of my benchwork. It's not too pretty but I had to start somewhere.
You can see on the right side middle, where it drops down 10". There will be a canyon there.

Allright, we're cookin' with gas now! Like I said, now there is a canyon!

Anddd, the canyon with the bridges in place. I have not done anything to the bridges other than assemble them and place them.

Now, you can see a view of the left end...

& a view the other direction. You can see my yard starting to take shape here. Yes, it differs from the plan. I found that I liked the yard this way better as it left me more room on the backside for scenery and it was more compact at the same time.

Right now, it is only a piece of cereal box but eventually there will be a highway overpass down there towards the middle of the yard.
What'cha think?

Interesting! Looks like a fair amount of operational possibilities right there! Some nice mainline running coming up!
