Model Railroader's track-plan contest

This months issue of Model Railroader has announced a track-plan contest. I'm somewhat intrigued and was seriously thinking about entering my plan for the future Podunk and Urbanopolis. I'd have to really put a lot more work into it and graphically enhance it quite a bit with color, buildings, roads and stuffs but I think I've got something worth working with.
Following is the page from Model Railroader showing all the rules and requirements and after that is my initial plan...

The lower level of my plan... also discussed in depth here...

Well, I went ahead and jumped into this thing to see what I could do and ths is where I'm at now...

Whether I submit this or not, I really don't care, as I'm having a blast graphically enhancing my old plan into this new work of art! Time will tell.

TN,
I say go for it, I would send mine in but they probably wouldn't like the dozen sheets of scrap paper with scribblings all over it. Now this is nothing against you but if you ask me they are trying to take the modeling out of the hobby and turn us into computor aided graphic designers.
PS.
I like what you did it looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've still been plugging away at this. I dunno if I'll make the deadline at this rate or not. Regardless, I'm having a blast consuming great gobs of time on this plan. Progress...

And a closeup of the Podunk area...

Well, here it is fellas. I don't know what more I can do to it 'cept send it in. As you will notice, it is no longer the Podunk and Urbanopolis but rather the Magnum and Moon Valley. I dunno, the other name was too...... gimicky. I did away with the helix and the second level.

First up is the overall graphic as it will be printed on a glossy 11x17.

The second shot is simply zoomed in a little to show just the layout.

The last shot is a closeup of Moon Valley just to show the level of detail I've put into this thing.

Personally, I don't think it will make it past the first cut. I think it is too complicated for what they are looking for... but HEY!- you never know!

By the way, this is just one of six graphics I have created to help explain this layout.
