Attaching Track and bed

We are looking to put foam down over the entire work surface for our layout. however how do you attach the bed and track if you have 1.5in of foam between. My first layout i just used the nails to attach to the top but I did not have foam in between.

Any help would be great full!

Zach

Cool

What are you using for roadbed? Cork? If so just glue it to the foam with white glue.(This way you have a fair chance of taking it up when and if you want to change things)

As for attaching the track to the roadbed just use track nails in the predrilled holes in the ties.Once you have the track "EXACTLY" where you want it just put down the ballast and glue it down with a 50-50 water/glue mix (add a few drops of dishsoap top it) the ballast once it is dry will hold the track in place just like the prototype.

Elmer's White glue like we used in school. mix it half water half glue. shake it up real good. works on a lot of other things on the layout aswell. and when it drys you can't see it.

I didn't like the look of the nail heads sitting on top of the ties so I glued the track down also using Liquid Nails for projects. Also I am using Peco flex track and it dosen't have holes in the ties.
