Shark-i-pede????

Just acquired several tyco sharks and as I once did custom car models, thought that I would create my own loco...have two A and one B units, thought that I would cut the B unit and weld on to an A to get the 90 ft. Have always gone in for the real look, but it might be nice to just kitbash these and create my own monster train...any thoughts?? Also has any one made anything similar, if so I would love to see it...thanks...

Go for it! Just make sure you have some wide radius curves!

I have an old Model Rialroader kicking around form the 1960's and they did something very similar but hey used a couple of F units to make I believe now don't quote me and FA If I come across it I'll post the issue datre etc. I knwo you can buy old coppies of MR I just don't kow how old.

Like TD said you better have some serious curves for that baby, the only reason big steam can negotiate an 18"-22" curve is because the really big one's are articulated.

A few years ago, I tried bashing a couple of fantasy locos in N. Below is a "poor man's" Baldwin centipede! It's two spliced Atlas FM C-Liner shells riding on a Japanese EF-57 chassis. It worked fairly well. I have anothe fantasy loco somewhere I'll have to dig up for a photo.

EDIT: OK, I found the other. I call it a "super C-Liner" and while it's N scale, it does fit your topic! The loco was bashed from two Atlas C-Liner dummies from the late 60's - 70's. I had a bunch of them so it was fun playing around and seeing what I could come up with. BTW, the B&A didn't own ANY FM C-liners so it's double fantasy!
