slow running sd40t-2

I have a athearns rtr sd40t-2 that i can't get it to run vary fast I mean it will only run about 30 smph I posted on altas fourm with little help so I thought I would try here. I have check everything greased it oil it checked for binds resodler everything an it still will not run over 30smph.my layout is dcc but i've not put in a decoder in it so i'm running it on anlog. ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.

Well most of my loco that are not DCC that i have run on dcc dont run very fast. If you have a way to set up some track and a DC controler try running it on dc and i think you will find it is just the dcc that is making it slow.

Try the board. if it don't run well it's the board or jumper board. you can get them from Athearn $12.95 but if it's new call them/e-mail they should give you an new one.

dd40 I think I will give athearn a call the board is the only thing that i'm not able to check. or maybe i'll hard wire a decoder in it

One more thing you can do is take the board out and temp hard wire the motor it should go fast, if it does it's the board.But it is new and Athearn should send you an new one.

IT'S NOT NEW I'VE HAD IT WHILE BUT IT'S BEEN SETTING ON THE SHELF WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS IT RAN GREAT BEFORE I PUT IT ON THE SHELFI guess the gremlins got to it
