If it is a regular Bachman it will be right up there with tyco and standard life-like. If it is a Bachman, Spectrum then you will have a very nice steamer.

You might want to checkout Micromark they are a good source for Spectrum locomotives. I purchased 3 heavy mountains form them a few years back and saved over 50% from what my local hobby shop was charging. One of the guys who worked in the hobby shop told me they sell seconds or return units that how they sell them so cheap. When I asked the rep from Micromark that question on the phone he told me that was a joke and that all of their engines are brand new. He even told me who the guy was who told me that because he said he had heard the same story from 3 other people in Jersey go figure.
Thanks AK

I've purchased a few Spectrums from them some where around a half dozen or more over the past few years as well as 2 Rivarossi's The Bigboy and the Allegheny and a few others as well I would have to check back in my paper work to see exactly which one's a suggestion on how you might find a review etc. is either o go directly to Bachmann's site or go to modlerailroader.com and check out product reviews. I can't say for sure weather or not they tested it but if they did those guys are some serious train nuts and they put things through their paces that’s for sure
I just recieved a email from Micro Mark and they now have the Spectrum 4-4-0 and the 4-6-0s with DCC & Sound on sale. Many have been A-waiting for these....
