Best start with a medium tip , I always mixed Floquil 2 parts thinner to 1 part color.your air pressure should be 15 - 20lbs no more. Start spraying 4 to 6 inch's from your subject, start spraying before your subject and do not stop until your past the subject. to close your paint may run ,to far and it'll tend to dry before it hits the surface.... also use very light coats of paint...... and remember to use a good primer first with Floquil to prevent crazing of the plastic.
And keep in mind rome wasn't built in a day ,the old axiom practice...practice...practice was never truer that when learning the art of air brushing .
P.S I you've never used a air brush before practice on piece's of scrap metal and plastic until you feel fairly comfortable with your equipment.

Sorry Domiluk i have never used a airbrush to paint with. All my HO stuff is don't with can paint and all my N scale is southern units so it is one color Black and i spray them with a can paint. I have a airbrush but i never use it as i can not get it to spray like i want it to. seems to splatter and spit to much for me.

I use a standard eye dropper found in any drugstore.Best to have several , nice to have spares.
So the formula would be 2 eye droppers of thinner to 1 of color ,4 thinner to 2 color etc. Some depending on the air brush and paint use a 1 to 1 mixture rate.
Experiment spraying with the different combinations until you find a mix that gives a nice smooth finish and one you feel at ease with.
As for which color to apply 1st always apply your base coat in this case the blue, mask off where the red will go if possible just to be safe.
hint: red should cover blue but blue won't cover the red.

Cool

Domiluk,I'm a painter, but I only use acrilic waterbased paints so any info I offered would not do you much good.

The only advise I can offer is as posted before paint the lighter colour first (on multicoloured paint schemes).I would also suggest that once you've masked off for the second colour that you spray the edge of your masking with the primary colour (in your case blue) to seal the edge of the masking.
