I have a BLI blueline ac6000, SP road #602, and other than initial decoder issues, it works great. I got 1 of the first run engines and new sound boards, so it was bugged, but the vendor (factory direct) happily crosshipped a new engine to me. But now they have the 2nd run boards with the kinks worked out.
I'm about to buy another 1, so take my advice for what you paid for it.

Well, I didnt use one of the suggested decoders, as it really doesnt matter, but I put in a Lenz LE100W wired to a 8 pin plug and had no problems with the decoder. I decided to use the Lenz as it is a single function decoder, and left the lights controlled by the on board decoder.

The issue with the first run was only with the AC6000 sound decoder baord. It shouldn't have affected the SD40 series. But with any new loco, it still needs a break in period.

ok, if the engine is in "just taken out of the box shape", meaning you havent put a decoder in it, then you can run it on dc or digitrax??? on address of 0. Or if you have put a decoder in it, take it back out and put the dc plug back in, and run it on address of 0. Dont worry about the sound decoder, it will only respond to the address of 3 or whatever address you programmed it to.
