rib-side box cars

If anyone is looking for accurate HO ribside boxcar kits check out www.ribsidecars.com they make some great prototype model kits. I have six already and probably go for a few more!!

They are very nice kits Kevin, great detailing, add on ladders and grabs, prototype trucks with metal wheels, and separate car numbers you put on yourself. All the cars where made from the Milwaukee Road specs and they are not resin they are injection molded!

Were these cars exclusive to Milwaukee Road? They have some nice N scale models too. I might consider adding some to the Erie fleet!

Yes, the rib side cars were built in the Milwaukee shops by the railroad itself. It is only one of many cool things that make modeling the Milwaukee so much fun! (and frustrating at times! )

Okay then...on to the next questions:

When were these cars built, what era?

How likely would it have been that they would've been sold off and/or purchased by another road?
