Question for RC plane modelers

I know there are a few of you on here so I have a question for you!
I am planning on using New Rail Models under table manual operated switch machines. This way I can manually throw the switch without the oversized throw on the layout. They say in their add to use RC plane control rods to use as the linkage. Does this stuff come in premade lengths or can you buy bulk lengths and cut them to what you need, or can you substitute something else. You can view the machines at www.newrailmodels.com

Yes and yes. The pushrods come in premade lengths with threaded ends and a clevis on the end. Or you can get longer pushrods and cut to whatever length. http://www.towerhobbies.com should have pushrods fairly cheap.

From looking at the price of the Bluepoint Switch machine and the cost of a pushrod/clevis ( a couple bucks), I think I will just go with the Tortoises. There are a few advantages with the tortoises with DCC if you want to do routing.

Thanks Kevin,
I did a little more digging and they added more to their website. I like the nylon push and pull rod made by Sullivan, might just go that route. I was thinking of the tortoises but I really like to manually throw my switches, also I am not power routing them so I will need a lot less wiring this way.I have been able to find the machines on sale for $9 apiece.

Kevin,
I was able to find the Sullivan flexable nylon Golden rod, pushrods at Tower hobbies. 2 three foot lengths with hardware for $4.29. I can get four or five turnouts hooked up with one package.

Sullivan is a good brand for pushrods. Good choice.

You never know TM,
I have been using Caboose Hobbies throws for my turnouts but they are way out of scale. So I seen these mounted under the table, this way I can put an operating scale switch stand on the turnout and control it from underneath, and still do it manualy!!
