Okay, where's the pics??
UH OH....!  So I'm looking at your choo choos and I have to ask a couple questions....
Is all your track sectional?
and
What did you do to get the track attached directly to the wood? DID you attach it to the wood base yet??
If the track isn't glued down and if the nails aren't in that good, you might want to consider pulling it up and running to a local lumber place and getting foam sheets to re-lay the track on...It would be lots quieter, and you could dig those gullies, and watercourses. Even if it isn't that thick, you have the ability to do some land forming.
Just an observation and two cents, for what it's worth...
