CP- He got out the way he got in!

This technique has been around for awhile- at least since the backhoes have had more power, and the RR's started farming out their MOW work to private contractors. I saw this technique used on gondolas where the backhoe had a thumb on it so they could pick up the old ties along right of ways. I saw it in a mag probably late eighties.
The cable on the front of the machine, and the guides keep the machine from sliding off the sides. Believe it or not, it's actually stable, as it's not going to fall over. The only real concern would be blowing a hydraulic line when you're getting up there!! Then you'd get down in a BIG hurry!
