A couple other techniques/more to come
Here we have an Athearn BB 50 Footer I got the idea one day to use a pen eraser on. I was able to thin down the paint on the roof, and make the streaks through the lettering on the sides. I painted the trucks, and here she is in all her time worn glory:
Another way of getting the rolling stock to look worn down is to dig out the airbrush, and spray it completely with diluted grimy black with the following results:
The entire car was done this way, and even the trucks were shot the same as the body. A little white was applied to the sheet boards on all sides.
