Hey guys...
Thank you all for those extremely kind words!
However, NO ONE here needs to take a backseat (or scooch over) for anyone. I have been fortunate to have had a lot of help from outstanding modelers who have graciously shared their knowledge and insights with me. I also read about techniques and study pictures of models and prototypes for hours upon hours.
The most important part of this project was taking the time to make accurate measurements and cuts.

And just so we keep the record straight.......all did not go as planned

The first paint job came out bright red and even with adding some brown highlights, it just wasn't going to work:

I then decided to get radical, and with a brush I applied a lot of black:

Next I applied a very thin coat of the original red color mixed with black over most areas. Then, using a microbrush Microbrush Information provided by Tower Hobbies , I painted individual boards red or tan:

I had no idea if it would work or not, I just did it and got lucky. But the worst that could have happened would be that I had to repaint it.

Again.....Thank you all
